We had searched for a number of years and had walked countless farms, both beautiful and not so beautiful. We found a beautiful but large piece of land near Puriscal. After over a year of planning and showing it to many people, our lawyer found that there was a hidden impediment. It could not be sold as it was. So now we are looking at other places

We propose that an environmentally and spiritually sound community must be founded, a community that sees forest reconstruction and environmental protection as integral parts of human activity, not mere emotionally satisfying weekend pastimes. This community is called Gaiasana and will slowly surround itself with healing projects. It will live the concept that spirituality is best expressed in the act rather than just the word.

Gaiasana is not to be primitive. It will use advanced technology where it suits our purpose and does not damage Gaia. Its regulations will be minimal, attemting to be neutral as to spirituality and diet. We are not really leaders, but founders. We have pointed the way and established some standards. The rest is up to those who heed the call to happily live and survive in the sanctuary of Gaiasana.
